Sheridan Coffey and I visited New Mexico and adjacent southernmost Colorado from July 04 - 06, 2008. Although primarily a birding trip we fitted-in some time to look for butterflies at higher elevations. The sites visited were:- Jemez Falls, Sandoval county New Mexico, and along road CO126 west of there; Cumbres Pass area, Conejos county, Colorado just north of where FR117 drops south into New Mexico; Chama area, Rio Arriba county, New Mexico - specifically a few miles south along H84 where a sagebrush plateau crosses the road; Emory Pass area, Grant/Sierra counties New Mexico on NM152 a few miles either side of the Pass:
