This presumed Anicia/Variable Checkerspot Euphydryas anicia carmentis was in Conejos county, Colorado, on the grassy/stony slopes near the railway tracks just below CR17 where FR117 drops down and south towards New Mexico (above 9,800 feet) on July 06, 2008:
