This presumed Spalding's Blue Euphilotes spaldingi pinjuna was perched on the only stem of Redroot/Racemose Buckwheat Eriogonum racemosum within eyesight along the edge of a sagebrush plateau on both sides of H84 a few miles south of Chama, Rio Arriba county, New Mexico of July 07, 2008; it appears to be a female, yet the upper FW has blue reaching almost to the leading edge - ?:
