I presume this to be an aberrant male Spot-tailed Dasher
Micrathyria aequalis; the extra pair of spots were striking in real life, as well as in this photo. It was located along the Oriole Trail boardwalk at Sabal Palm Audubon Center, near Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas:





Update May 08, 2009: in March of 2009 I visited Bentsen SP/WBC in Hidalgo county, south Texas and found another "aberrant aequalis" type; regrettably it few off after just one photo. Note on this individual the blue eyes and squared shape of the S6, S7 spots:




Update June 11, 2009: in late May of 2009 I visited Bentsen SP/WBC again and found another "aberrant aequalis" type; I'm not sure we can call this an aberration any longer, but perhaps should refer to it as a rare variant?:
