This high-feeding male darner was along the entrance road next to the HQ buildings at Santa Ana NWR on June 20, 2009; it is closest to an immature Turquoise-tipped Darner Rhionaeschna psilus - and may well be that taxon - but some features seem odd, especially the green face and pattern on the side of S1:
