These Caribbean Darners Triacanthagyna caribbea were found at Santa Ana NWR, Hidalgo county, Texas in mid-September 2008; they represent the 4th - 7th records of this taxon for the United States
(the prior records being Nov 2007; September 19 and September 20, 2008):

Three males:
1) from near the start of the Chachalaca Trail on September 21, with Greg Lasley:




2) from the far end of the Chachalaca Trail on September 22, with Jan and David Dauphin, Tom Pendleton and Dave Hansen; this became the first specimen for the united States:


3) from half-way along the Chachalaca Trail on September 22 with Jan and David Dauphin, Tom Pendleton and Dave Hansen; this became the second specimen for the united States:

from c. 100 yards right along the Resaca loop Trail (c. far end of loop drive) on September 21 with Jan and Dave Dauphin:
