Tamaulipas, Mexico 2006

This silent Empidonax flycatcher was near the Research Station at Rancho del Cielo:

In the field it "felt" more like a slightly grayish Western-type, but examining these pics it looks more like a Hammond's - except that the bill does not look right.

Can Hammond's have a bill like this?:


Note that the wing-tip extends well beyond the tips of the longest undertail coverts:



Any suggestions?
