Tamaulipas, Mexico 2006

A NE Mexico endemic, Crimson-collared Grosbeak Rhodothraupis celaeno is usually not found this high; I suspect that the severe drought in NE Mexico may be causing many birds to wander more-widely in search of food and water - and the abundant local crop of lowquat seemed to be drawing-in a great many birds.
