ECUADOR: Target Birds

Masked Mountain-Tanager Buthraupis wetmorei: at the pass on the Gualeceo - Limon road on January 29, 1997:

The male moved down a bit:



Then a bit closer:


- then retreated slightly, but gave the best profile looks:



I presume that this is an adult female, since there were shy and nervous duller birds down below them that I took to be their juveniles:
