The rank grass along the side of the roads in the Ranchland leading to Pousada Rio Azul seems to be home to quite a few crakes; this was one of two Ash-throated Crakes Porzana albicollis seen crossing the road in front of us; we also glimped one of three Gray-breasted Crakes Laterallus exilis heard just feet from our vehicle:
