This sapsucker found by Sheridan Coffey at the Lawrence E. Wood Picnic Area in the Davis Mountains, Texas on the morning of March 11 2005 shows all the features of an adult "Southern" Red-breasted Sapsucker Sphyrapicus ruber daggetti (photos by Martin Reid):
