This Plegadis ibis was photographed at Paradise Pond, Port Aransas, Nueces county Texas on May 03, 2005 by Martin Reid. The eye was deep ruby-red; the pale borders of the facial skin were the light powder-blue typical of adult Glossy, without any tinge of red where these two areas met the eye; much of the facial skin ahead of each eye was red-tinged:
