Sheridan and I were looking for Kittlittz's Murrelet at the tip of Homer Spit, Alaska in early June 2008 when this Bald Eagle almost hit us as it flew down to the beach, getting mobbed by Northwestern Crows. As it swung by I could see that it had caught not one but TWO Black-legged Kittiwakes - one in each foot!:





After settling it concentrated on killing and plucking the "leftfoot" kittiwake; the "rightfoot" kittiwake sat motionless, perhaps hoping to sneak away while its hapless companion was being consumed. However soon after the photo below was taken a second Bald Eagle came in and stole the "rightfoot" bird, flying off with it...
