This subadult male Broad-billed Hummingbird Cynanthus latirostris was photographed at our balcony shrimp plants from inside our second-story apartment in north-central San Antonio at lunchtime on January 25, 2015 (pics from this first encounter are below the first image below):

UPDATE: Jan 26, 2015: it came in again today, briefly at 12:17pm, then it sat on a branch near our balcony for almost 20 minutes before coming in to feed at our plants and feeder:

UPDATE: Jan 30, 2015: it came in again at 4pm on Jan 26 and sat on the same branch between visits to our hummingbird feeder and plants. Then only one more sighting - at 7:30am the next morning for almost an hour as it rested and fed strongly at the feeder. My sense is that it was tanking-up prior to getting out of Dodge...
