This Peregrine (Falco peregrinus)
was photographed in east Houston, Texas on February 22, 2006. It had been present intermittently throughout the winter, and initially struggled to catch any gulls or pigeons at this site, but later it figured out that Cattle Egrets were easier to catch, and then targeted them :
