This Gray Hawk Buteo plagiatus was in Parker Canyon, Huachuca Mountains, Cochise county, Arizona on August 26, 2013; it looks to be a 2CY bird that is close to completing its PB1 molt - note the retained juvenile P8s (per Bill Clark) and a couple of lower scaps, plus large areas in the crown/nape:
