This Evening Grosbeak Coccothraustes vespertinus - found by Willie Sekula - was at Dog Canyon, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Culberson county, Texas on January 10, 2013:



- note how from this angle the forecrown looks to be blackish, and even the hindcrown (not in shadow) seems distinctly darker than the rest of the head - this is all a total artifact, and an important lesson for when assessing digital photo images...
