These tough-to-find Mountain Plovers
Charadrius montanus were part of a flock of
more than two hundred feeding on the peanut fields at the Halff Brothers Ranch
on January 19, 2005; with a World population of just c.6,000 this
one flock represented more than 3% of the entire species!:
