This very pale second-cycle type Thayer's Gull? Larus thayeri? was photographed in late January 2013 at the Brownsville Landfill, Cameron county, Texas; It seems way too pale for a pure thayeri and is presumably an intergrade with kumlieni, and I wonder how close this is to a darker pure kumlieni?:
