This juvenile bird was photographed by Greg Lasley;
at Boca Chica, Texas, on December 4, 1986. The scapulars look
too "holly-leaf"-like (esp. the lower central feathers)
to be a normal thayeri; could this be a thayeri/smithsonianus
intergrade, or even just an unusual smithsonianus?
