This Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus
fuscus ssp?) was photographed at Brownsville Landfill,
Texas in January 1994 by Tony Leukering. Of note on this apparent
adult is the neat black subterminal band on the bill, the quite
dark mantle tone (much darker than LAGUs in the same over-exposed
image), limited head streaking, and smallish white primary tips:
