This presumed 2nd-Basic Lesser Black-backed-type Gull was photographed at Braunig Lake, San Antonio, Texas on December 27, 1992 by Willie Sekula. This is a very thick-chested, heavy-billed individual:
 There is a definite - albeit rather dull - paler panel on the inner primaries:
 The greater secondary coverts appear to be solidly adult-gray - more of a 3rd-Basic feature, yet the secondaries are dark blackish-brown - a typical 2nd-Basic condition:
