For many years a distinctive Lesser Black-backed Gull (L. f. graellsii) - I have christened him Graeme the graellsii - returned each winter to a 400-yard stretch of Mustang Island, Texas, just south of Port Aransas. Thanks to Greg Lasley's persistence over the years (most of these photos are his) I am able to present to you:-
