This definitive-alternate Herring Gull Larus a. smithsonianus was photographed by Martin Reid at La Marque, Texas on 3rd April, 2000. It has obviously yellow legs that on close inspection on the field were truly yellow but with some pink blood vessels creating an irregular effect; in all other respects it looked normal for a smithsonianus (e.g. pale yellow eye and bright yellow orbital ring):
