This 1st-Basic gull was photographed on November 26, 1991 at Brownsville Dump, Texas by Martin Reid. This bird only came to light as it was included in a shot of a 2nd-Basic LBBG (see lower photo) for size comparison. There are a number of features that resemble first-basic Western Gull (including a small skirt of visible secondaries), and note the three dark-gray lower lateral scaps - what generation are these? do they influence the ID? - any comments?:
