These Siberian Gulls (Larus heuglini)
(plus a couple of barabensis) were photographed at Ras
el Hadd (the easternmost point of Oman) and nearby Sur, in late
February and early March, 2000 by Arend Wassink; I presume them
to mostly be immatures of "Big Pale Heuglini",
as with the adult birds at these locations :
In the image below the (sub)adult bird is very short-tailed, with
barely any tail extending beyond the tertial tips:
