This adult-basic Siberian Gull (Larus
heuglini heuglini) was photographed in Bahrain in
early March 1999 by Martin Reid. A fairly typical bird, but note
the thick subterminal black band:
In the shot below the heuglini looks darker than it did
in real life. The large gulls in this image are (left to right):
barabensis, heuglini, cachinnans (maybe ponticus),
and
??? a small taimyrensis ???:
