This gull was photographed on January 04, 2007 in the Coastal Plain near Houston and Galveston:
It is an LBBG-type, but larger, bulkier, with a heftier bill and "oilier" look to it. I wonder if it could be a Kelp, or if not then some kind of GBBGxLBBG hybrid? - if that's feasible...:
