These first-winter Caspian Gulls (Larus
cachinnans ) were photographed by Detlef Gruber:
1) "First winter cachinnans, with typical long wings
and legs, very pale (nearly white) underwing and undertail coverts,
narrow tail band."
2) " First winter cachinnans, more pointed bill tip
(compared to michahellis), bi-coloured greater upperwing
coverts (muddy bases and pale tips) and obvious pale inner primaries.
Tail pattern as in michahellis."
