An adult Eastern Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans cachinnans), photographed by Martin Reid in Bahrain, early March 1999. Small mirrors on P10 and P9 (with large black subterminal bands) point to barabensis, yet there is no black bleeding up the outer edge of P5 and the black mark on P4 is tiny; the gray tongue on the inner web of P8 appears to be "intermediate"; note the small, slightly paler crescents basal to the black subterminal bands on P7,P6:
