 Third-basic Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans), photographed by Martin Reid in Bahrain, early March 1999. Note the extensive black band near the bill tip, and the small broken black band subterminally in the tail. This view does not allow a comfortable assignement to a race, but I feel that the bill shape favors ponticus:
