Adult Western Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans ponticus), photographed by Martin Reid in Bahrain, early March 1999. This individual is in the middle of the range for ponticus , as evidenced by the narrow black subterminal band on P10, medium-sized black band on P10 basal to the mirror, narrow black subterminal band to P5, and apparent lack of black on P4.
