Two 2nd basic/alternate(?) Steppe Gulls
(Larus (c.?) barabensis). These are the only photos
I obtained of this age-class; it is possible that one or both
birds are actually nominate cachinnans, but I feel the
tone of the mantle (relative to nearby adults) is consistent with
barabensis:
