I visited Dick Kleberg Park in Kingsville, Texas on October 21 2006, having heard that there were many Definite Patches D. definita and Tiny Checkerspots D. dymas flying there - I was not disappointed. Here are some of the 100+ Tiny Checkerspots Dyamasia dymas seen there - note the tendency towards melanism in this population:
