This presumed pale-type female Large Orange Sulphur Phoebis agarithe was photographed at Arcadian Park in Saginaw, north of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas on August 11, 2003; I saw it fly at close range and the upperparts were clearly off-white:

The upper shot is with natural light (due to partial backlighting, the yellow of the leaf on which it is perched seems to make it appear more yellow than in real life); the lower pic is with a flash, and is closer to the color seen when it flew:
