Longwing sp. northern Ecuador during Feb 6 - 17, 2006; the four specimens of H. m. cythera at BOA all lack the following features of this individual:- any blue sheen above (but may not be seeable in specimens?); the three red spots near the base of the VHW; a DEEP white distal band on the HW that LACKS an alternating pattern of thick and thin black veins in the white both above and below:
