Straw-colored Sylph Macrothemis inacuta:

Update September 30, 2004: added pics a male perched on a rock, at the bottom of the page.

This young female was photographed on southernmost Pintail Lake trail, Santa Ana NWR, Hidalgo County, Texas on Aug 08, 2004:

Update September 30, 2004: This male was one of 5+ I found patrolling a section of San Isabela Creek on FM1472 west of Laredo, Texas, today. I also found a female near the Paso del Indo trail in Laredo - it was working a small open stretch in the lee of some bushes, at knee-to-head heights, rather like a Hyacinth Glider.
