Although I'd seen the fabulous White-capped Tanager on a previous trip, those views were distant - this time we lucked-out with a flock of eight birds right by the side of the road a couple of miles south of the Guacamayos Ridge. They hung-out for at least four minutes, seeming agitated and vocal - calling loudly even as we drove up - but were not bothered by our getting out and slowly approaching them:
