ECUADOR 2006

The new Reserve at Rio Silanche is a very welcome sight for me, as I recall on a visit ten years ago talking with the then-landowner about his plans to cut down the forest, so that he could graze a couple more cows... There is an excellent canopy tower at the site, providing the chance to see at eye-level some great birds, including this Choco Toucan :
