This Plate-billed Mountain-Toucan was one of three seen along the upper Tandayapa Valley, close to Bellavista:

BTW here's my poor pics of the other two Mountain-Toucans found in Ecuador: this Grey-breasted Mountain-Toucan was near Las Cajas NP, west of Cuenca in 1998:


- and this is one of two Black-billed Mountain-Toucans seen years ago at San Isidro (on this recent trip we saw, through the clouds, a pair feeding a juvenile at Guacamayas Ridge)
