I took these photos at Village Creek, Fort Worth, Texas on May 25, 1998 to document the very odd-looking Least Sandpiper (LESA) on the right with a pale golden cap; it turned out to be some kind of fungal growth or skin deformity, but the bird with it is even more interesting as it has a strikingly Long-Toed Stint-like head pattern; compare it to the LTST at the bottom of this page:
