With much gratitude to Laurie Knight who lives on the central coast of eastern Australia (south of Brisbane) I am able to show you a series of photos of Pacific Golden-Plovers Pluvialis fulva from dates in the January - March period, showing plumage progression and also some interesting apparent differences from published Conventional Wisdom regarding the structure and molt of fulva:
