These record shots of a "Mountain" Northern Pygmy-Owl (Glaucidium gnoma gnoma) - were taken in Pine Canyon, BBNP. Brewster County, Texas on August 25, 2007; it consistently gave the typical call of the form gnoma found in the mountains of southeast Arizona and nothern Mexico - a fast double-toot at a rate of c. one pair-per-second, plus every few pairs an extra single note was included:
