These "Atlantic" Yellow-legged Gulls (Larus michahellis ?atlantis?) were photographed by Peter Adriaens in Porto, Portugal, in late March 2001:

Note the late covert moult compared to nominate michahellis, with many birds retaining all the juvenile coverts:


NOTE: the birds below seems to have retained at least a few juvenile longest-scapulars:
