This Strymon serapio Bromeliad Scrub-Haristreak was found by Mike Rickard at Estero Llano Grande State Park, Hidalgo county, Texas on December 19, 2008 - a new taxon for the United States (i.e. not the same species as the unnamed "Bromeliad Hairstreak" that uses Hechtia in BBNP, west Texas):
