This first-basic Great Black-backed
Gull Larus marinus was found dead on the road
and photographed on the 17th of April, 2000 by Norman Van Swelm,
near his home in the Netherlands:
note the typical bill shape, that is very thick at the base and
does not show much gonydal angle, despite being massive-looking:
note the pattern of the inner primaries: P1-P4/P5 have the typical
marbling on the distal half, especially on the outer webs:
